My dad

Hi blog peeps

Do you ever think that hanging out with your dad could be cool? Some people do and some people don’t but in my story my dad is everything to me.

When my dad is away I miss him a lot but sometimes we skype each other and when my dad is in Durban we always have fun adventures.

My dad always makes funny jokes about everything but you know spending time with your dad is an amazing experience.

My dad and I have a very close bond and we chat to each other and make up jokes and since I was little he always tackled me before I went to bed. I will never get tired of that one.

Sometimes we go to the dam and we enjoy ourselves. The one time when me and my dad went to the dam and my dad went wakeboarding and it was so cool to see him wakeboarding. He did all kinds of tricks not the dangerous ones I guess and I also went knee boarding. It was lots and lots of fun.

I can’t wait to see my dad again in December.

So blog peeps, whenever your dad is in town always bond with him, see whats up and enjoy your time with your dad.

Take it easy blog peeps.

Aloe Festival - Steam Train

Hi blog peeps

Today’s story is about me and my family going on a steam train. Now some people went on train before and some didn’t but it may surprise you that I have never been on a train before.

So my story begins on Saturday, me and my family were driving all morning and listening to music in the car, finally we get to the train station at Creighton.

Then we had lunch at the flea market and after lunch we had a walk around and I bought a new bag then we went on the steam train. The view was incredible and we had so much fun and we saw some aloes.

This is me standing in front of the steam train.

So peeps if ever go on a Train always have fun and always cherish the memories because you will never know Where your next adventure will take you.

Patience, dedication and hard work

Hi blog peeps

Do you ever sometimes get bullied and you don’t know how to defend yourself, or tell that person to go away when they annoy you? I have got a few tips if a bully teases you. The best thing to do is to walk away from them or ignore them. Sometimes when a robber comes to your house and hurts you another thing to do is to defend yourself (only if it's safe to do so - my mom says she would run away screaming).

How? You can do karate. It may surprise you that I, Julia Houareau, have been doing karate for 5 years and a few weekends ago I earned my brown three stripe. It was so much fun but it took patience, discipline and hard work.

This photo is of me with my dad before the grading.

This is me during the grading trying really hard.

This is me with my dad when I got my certificate. I was so happy that my dad came all the way from Seychelles for my grading. It was such a big surprise and I love him so much.

Another thing to remember peeps if you are doing karate, don’t use it on your friends and family.

Midlands Meander

Hey blog peeps

This is one of my favorite stories I like to tell. My Uncle Doug and Jurgen came to Durban for a few days recently. At first me and my Uncle Doug got off on the wrong foot , we were fighting and arguing and irritating each other. But when you hang out with your family or your uncle, it's always good to know that you have something in common. So when me and my family went on the Midlands Meander, Uncle Doug and I started to form an alliance. My mom got a little bit irritated because suddenly we were teaming up against her and she felt left out. And I must tell you, driving all day in the car is not so cool.

So after driving around for a while, we suddenly stopped at a chocolate shop (my mom really loves chocolate). So we were at the chocolate shop, we had a big bowl of chocolate sauce and were dipping strawberries, grapes, cheese, chillies, chips, marshmellows and almost anything you can imagine into the chocolate. We were enjoying ourselves, chatting, having fun. Afterwards, mom wanted to buy a box of chocolate, my uncle too and I had to stand around and wait with my dog while they made their choices.

These pictures are of me and my Uncle Doug after we had formed our alliance.

The view where we were was so beautiful. The autumn leaves had fallen. We had so much fun.
